Individual Therapy

Change is ready whenever you are.

Therapy is an hour of the week that’s 100% yours.

It’s space where you can let out any feelings that have been building up, reflect on how current challenges connect to your history, and make thoughtful choices about where things need to shift.

What I do as your therapist is support you in that process. I listen, reflect back important things you share, and help you notice connections in your experiences.  I ask questions to help you get a new perspective on the situation and consider your options.

Depending on the type of person you are and the things you want to work on, we can also bring in other tools.

  • If you’re playing out unsatisfying patterns in your life, we might use schema therapy assessment and tools to clarify where these come from and support alternate behaviors.

  • If worry or negative thinking is holding you back, we might practice cognitive-behavioral skills that will help you step back from your thoughts and give them a reality-check.

  • If you went through a difficult experience, we might use trauma-focused work and/or art therapy to help you express what that was like and how it has affected you so that you don’t have to hold it all alone.

  • If you have specific goals but are struggling to realize them, we might work on planning and organizational skills to create a plan of action and break things down into small steps so that you can start making progress.

Most importantly, you’ll always have choices about how your therapy takes shape.  I’m here to be your consultant along the way and to witness the progress you make.
